The Cannonsburg Ski and Ride Area has opened just under 4 miles of groomed loops for XC skiing, fat bike, and snow shoe use. The Winter Trails will be 4 feet wide with a max width of 7 feet in the downhills and passing areas. Says Scott Wanhala of Cannonsburg, "Skate ski quality is going to be on the narrow side depending on skill level along with possible ruts from fat bike use due to being a multi-use trail." The trails make use of man-made snow at the bottom of the downhill area plus trails in the woods.

Cannonsburg Winter Trail opened yesterday for the first time. Wanhala reports that conditions are "a little crunchy under the fresh snow."
