The Washtenaw Ski Touring Club has just released its extensive calendar of ski trips. This year schedule includes trips in Michigan's upper and lower peninusulas plus trips to Ontario and West Virginia. You must be a member of WSTC or a Metropolitan Detroit Ski Council affiliated club to sign-up for a WSTC trip. WSTC membership fee: $15 single; $30 family. Carpooling may be available on trips.

DNR/MacMullan Weekender - Learn to Ski Option! January 10 - 12, 2014
Enjoy this 1930's era, CCC-built lodge across the road from 8 miles of DNR trails and 20 minutes or less from 4 more ski areas: Forbush Corner, Hanson Hills, X-C Ski HQ, and Hartwick Pines. Both beginner and experienced skiers will enjoy the many options. Ski lessons available at X-C Ski HQ - not included but just 10 minutes away.
Stokely Creek Mid-Week Ski, January 13 - 17, 2014
Four glorious days of skiing and fabulous food at Stokely Creek Lodge. The 120 km of ski trails offer views of lakes, streams, forest and incredible solitude. Ski some of the most beautiful terrain in North America. Participants will make their own reservations. Trip leader will facilitate arrangements for roommates and carpooling.
Hiawatha Sportsman’s Club Getaway, January 17 - 20, 2014
Enjoy comfort and camaraderie in 5 cabins on Millecoquins Lake. Enjoy skiing on the club’s many miles of trails on 35,000 acres of land and water or at nearby Canada Lakes Pathway, Northern Hardwoods, Tahquamenon Falls, and Sand Dunes. 75 miles to Valley Spur. All levels of skiers will enjoy this trip.
Petoskey Weekender, January 24 - January 26, 2014
Spend a pleasant weekend in Petoskey’s historic Victorian Bayview area. Get in plenty of skiing too! We will choose from Nub's Nob, Boyne, Wildwood, Douglas Lake, or DNR/National Forest trails. Most Bayview streets will be closed and skiable! Bring your ice skates for the lagoon at nearby Petoskey Winter Sports Park.
Ludington Luxury Weekender, January 31 - February 2, 2014
Ski beautiful Ludington State Park on trails that wind through hardwood forests, marshes and sand dunes and offer vistas of Lake Michigan. Ski options Saturday include Pentwater Pathway in Mears and The Big M in Wellston, both club favorites and both within an hour's drive. We have reserved all five rooms of our B&B, an elegant 19th-century Victorian home within walking distance (1 mile) of Lake Michigan. West Virginia Getaway, February 6 –10, 2014
WSTC is striking out for new territory! The Canaan (KA-nane) Valley of West Virginia offers spectacular mountain scenery, miles of groomed and ungroomed trails, and 170 inches of snow per year—all in the same driving time from Ann Arbor as Marquette! Backcountry, telemark, and downhill skiing, snowshoeing, skating, and tubing, too. We’ll stay in two beautiful cabins with kitchens and common areas within an easy drive of ski areas.

Lake Ann Weekender, February 14 -16, 2014
The lodge at Sleeping Bear Resort, located near the Lake Ann trails and within an easy drive of Sleeping Bear Dunes, is a great location for skiing, snowshoeing, and having fun. For those leaving early on Friday, there can be a stop at Crystal Mountain and its 40 km of ski trails. This trip will run regardless of ski conditions; there are opportunities for wine country tours, hiking, a visit to Traverse City, or a concert at Interlochen.
Historic UP: Fayette and Calumet Getaway, February 21-27, 2014
Spend the week skiing some of the best trails in the Midwest and soaking up some UP history. We'll start at Fayette State Park, staying for two nights at the Furnace Hill Lodge, skiing in the park or at the Rapid River Trails.We'll move on to Calumet and ski the world class trails nearby, staying in the Centennial Cottages.

Stokely Spring Getaway, March 7– 9, 10, 11, 2014
Extend the ski season by heading to Canada’s Algoma Country for Stokely Creek’s “Ski the Lakes” event, including a picnic on Walker Lake. Depending on room availability, we will spend Friday and Saturday night at Stokely Creek Lodge. Those wishing to extend the trip can find lodging in Sault Ste. Marie for Sunday and Monday nights, with skiing at Hiawatha Highlands. Please express interest ASAP. Participants will make their own reservations.
