
HOUGHTON, Mich. -- The Michigan Tech Nordic skiing team fielded 21racers, including 14 men and seven women, on the most recent Central Collegiate Ski Association (CCSA) CFIS Points List released this week.
Topping the list of Huskies to earn points is Jesse Lang (St. Louis Park, Minn.), who is third after posting top an array of top five performances to begin the CCSA season. Five other skiers on the men'sside cracked the top 20 -- Adam Airoldi (Everson, Wash. -- 8), Chris Harvey (Eden Prairie, Minn. -- 11), Kevin Heglund (Andover, Minn./Anoka-- 12), Aaron Ditty (Brooklyn Park, Minn./Park Center -- 13) and Andrew Joda (Nashotah, Wis. -- 20).
On the women's side, two-time All-American Kristina Owen (East Wenatchee, Wash./Eastmont) ranks sixth, while Elizabeth Quinley (Anchorage, Alaska/East -- 12) and Jenna Klein (Ely, Minn. -- 13) arealso among the top 15 at this point in the season.
A total of 12 others received points and are listed below.
"It is encouraging to see so many skiers from our program in position to qualify for a berth in the NCAA Championships," said head coach Joe Haggenmiller. "Hopefully we can continue to make strides as we get ready for nationals."
