The Michigan Cup Relays at the Cross Country Ski Headquarters in Roscommon: Warm and wet was the weather, and fast was the course!
A record number of skiers turned out for this year's Muffin Race: 34 juniors competed in the Michigan Cup Junior Team Sprint Relays (ages 13-19), and 53 juniors competed in the Mini Muffin races.
Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop has won the 2022 Brumbaugh Cup! After they hit their stride, HHCCSS placed first in 6 races.
The last junior race still needs to be run, but the top junior and senior champions for the year are ready to call...and there was a tie!
(UPDATED) Things were a little better day two of the Michigan Cup Championships. The weather warmed up to 23! The sun was out! It was (slightly) less windy!
Brutal winds! Cold! Slow! Dry snow, wind and cold made everyone suffer. Everyone was cooked by the end. But Jorden Wakeley and Jordyn Ross were crowned Michigan Cup Freestyle Champions!

Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop continues to fend off all comers in the Brumbaugh Cup competition. Team NordicSkiRacer remains in second place; Vasa holds third place.
Samuel Shaheen and Jamie Chapman owned this weekend's North American Vasa, winning both Saturday's 27k Freestyle and Sunday's 15k Classic.
UPDATED Feb 19. At the end of two days of racing, the Copper County Ski Tigers claimed victory in the overall 2022 Michigan High School Cross Country Ski Championships.
Five Brumbaugh-series races down and three to go: Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop and Team NordicSkiRacer remain in first and second place. The Grand Rapids Nordic stole third place back from the Vasa Ski Club.
NordicSkiRacer narrowly leads MI Cup; Rebecca Davis, Jorden Wakeley, Olin Kasperowicz, and Arianne Olson currently rank as the top skiers.
