With a 5-weekend January, we were able to move the Black Mountain races from March to January!
The course features incredible rolling terrain and views of Black Lake and Lake Huron. The beautiful course, specially designed shirts, unique awards, and the best post-race lunch anywhere make this event the jewel of the Michigan Cup circuit.

UPDATE Jan 18, 2022:
The DNR has issued the permits to The Black Mountain Nordic Ski Club to hold races on January 29th and 30th!
Sign-up for this year's races will be on RunSignUp.com at https://runsignup.com/Race/MI/Cheboygan/BlackMountainMINordicRaces. You will have the option of signing up for one race at the normal price or both races for a reduced rate. Registration will close for both races at 8pm on Friday 1/28.
Due to large gathering concerns, the post race luncheon will not be held but a complimentary pint of Cheboygan Beer will be available in the Eagles Nest Bar at The Chateau at Black Mountain! We are happy to announce that the Chateau has reopened this year under new ownership and we welcome them and Cheboygan Brewing as major sponsors of the Black Mountain Races.
The Classic Race will be our 31km course and the Freestyle Race will again be held on our challenging skate loop "The Beast". Both Races will have the traditional Lake start in front of The Chateau. The Address is
10621 Twin
Lakes Road
Cheboygan, MI
Bibs will be handed out at The Eagles Nest on the morning of each race.
Snow conditions have been consistent and improving. The entire trail system has been groomed for skating and classic with more snow and good temps on the way!
We look forward to seeing you all back at Black Mountain.
