First, the disclaimer from Ken Dawson:
Here are the unofficial Michigan Cup results for the season. I picked up all the changes that anyone gave me and would like to have everyone review this once again before it becomes final. This is a self assessing system so I need for everyone to check and make sure they got points for the races they entered.
So if you see any errors, contact Ken at [email protected].
That said...Here are the 2013 Michigan Cup Final Results - Unofficial. (PDF)
Vasa Ski Club's Eli Brown jumped the top of the Michigan Cup standings by winning the Black Mountain Classic race last weekend. Brown raced in five Michigan Cup race and won every single one of them. Finishing 7th overall in the American Birkebiener Classic and 2nd in the Noquemanon, I guess we shouldn't be too surprised!
Ryan Harris of Hanson Hills/Cross Country Ski Shop took second with 997 points, just 1 point ahead of Dan Yankus of Team Priority Health/Team NordicSkiRacer, who was just barely ahead of several other skiers in the very competitive men's field.
Vasa Ski Club's Amy Powell held onto first place with 996 points, beating Brenda Carlson (Hanson Hills/Cross Country Ski Shop) and Kaitlyn Patterson (Cross Country Ski Headquarters), each with 976 points. Although Patterson beat Carlson all season in head-to-head racing, Carlson had an overall win in the Black Mountain Freestyle, putting her into second place (Patterson did not attend that race).
As stated in the last update, with a perfect score of 1,000, Erin Lipp takes home the Michigan Cup Junior Girl's title. Sarah Goble and Hanna Davis made valiant efforts but finish second and third with 976 and 928 points.
Ian Durand takes the Boy's Title with 994 points. He's followed by Eivind Kragebakk and Clay Darling with 982 and 952 points.
WooHoo - congratulations everyone!
Oh, by the way, the team competition is not over. Have your relay teams ready for this weekend????
