The Meijer State Games Of Michigan / Forbush 8K/17K Freestyle race was held this past Saturday on an excellently groomed trail, with cool temperatures and little wind. The course wound around most the Forbush Corner trail system.
Team NordicSkiRacer continues to lead Brumbaugh Cup competition for more powerful team with a narrow lead over Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop
With Vasa Fest over, Vasa Ski Club has increased it lead over the Cross Country Ski Headquarters remaining in second. Grand Rapids Nordic Ski Team is still in third with only a narrow gap over Team NordicSkiRacer.

The Michigan Cup Team and Individual standings as of the White Pine Stampede are out, and there's been shift in both the team standings and the overall individual leads!
The race course was immaculate: Double tracked, except for uphills (one track on the right, with the left groomed for herringboners) and the big downhills (one track on the right, with the left groomed for snowplowing and braking).

The men's 50km skate race (actually 49km) was dominated by alumni from Michigan Tech's Nordic Ski Team - the Tech skiers took the top five spots!
After the inclusion of the Noquemanon Ski Marathon results, the Vasa Ski Club continues to lead the overall Michigan Cup with a significant lead over Cross Country Ski Headquarters.
RESULTS: Vasa Ski Club's Sam Holmes and Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop's Rebecca Davis finished 4th and 5th in the premier 50km Classic, with Grand Rapids Nordic Ski Team's Andy Liebner winning the 24km skate.
