I'm pleased to announce an excellent opportunity for you to learn Nordic teaching skills or polish your own technique.
Vasa Trailhead
Saturday Feb. 27, 2010
9:30am to 4:00pm
Hosted by Vasa Ski Club & American Snowsport Education Association - Central (PSIA-C)
This professional quality instructional clinic will be directed by Lou Awodey, PSIA-C Nordic Track and Telemark Examiner and assisted by Amy Powell of the Vasa Ski Club.  Lou is owner/director of Aspen Grove XC Center (East Jordan, MI) and formerly ran the Boyne Nordican XC Center for over two decades.
Amy has been PSIA certified in Alpine/Adaptive since 2000 and Nordic since 2005. Amy has coached middle school skiers for 3 years and began teaching preschoolers this season. On top of her coaching, Amy has been successfully racing since the late '90s. She is a physical therapist with background in background in body positions, posture and muscle balance. Lou and Amy's instructional and ski experiences run deep. This is a great opportunity to dip into their knowledge base while you can improve your skiing and teaching skills.
Instruction will be geared to both classical and skate skiing. Emphasis will be placed on teaching skills.  Bring both skate and classic skis. Dress appropriately for 'stop' (discussion/instruction) and 'go' (practice) time on the trail.
