White Pine Stampede: Classic skiers go first!

Thu, Feb  2, 2017 - By ‎Stacey Titus Hicks

We are anticipating a large field for the 20K race this weekend's White Pine Stampede since we had to cancel the 50K event. To alleviate the congestion on the course, the committee has decided to stagger the start times for the 20K. All classic cross-country skiers will start the race at 10:30 a.m. and will finish the race at the usual 50K finish line. Freestyle skiers will start the race at 10:45 a.m. and will finish at the regular 20K finish.

The pre-race meeting will be held at 9:45 for both heats. The 10K will start at the regular time--11:30 a.m.

In light of the race changes this year due to the weather, the committee has decided to leave the entry fee at the current $85 rate, instead of increasing the price to $95 for last minute entries. We are looking forward to a large field of racers in the 20K and 10K and hope splitting up the field into heats for the 20K will keep everyone safe for an enjoyable race. Please let us know if you have questions. See you on Saturday!
