Krazy Klassic race on Sunday, Jan 11

Thu, Jan  8, 2015 - By Mike Muha is the new title sponsor to the Krazy Klassic race. The race is usually held on the classic-only trails in the woods at the south end of Huron Meadows Metropark. Because of a general lack of skiable snow, the race will be moved to the newly extended man-made snow trail, Buck's Run, near the cross country ski center. The race this year has two distances: 3 laps (6.75k) and 4 laps (9k) around Buck's Run. Skiers start two-at-a-time every 15 seconds on a double-tracked course.

The extended trail has a new hill. We are providing a hill-bypass trail for folks who don't want to experience a fast descent! Expect plenty of man-made snow with several inches of natural snow mixed in.

The shorter distance race is a designated Michigan Cup junior points race. It is also part of the Michigan Cup Fun Race Series - adults racing the event will get 10 Michigan Cup points.

The longer race is a Michigan Cup senior points race.

Registration is day-of-race only and costs $20.
