From Sweden, Axelsson joined the Huskies in January 2014. Axelsson won her quarterfinal and semifinal heats to advance to the championship on the 1.4-kilometer sprint course.

"It was another great day for Ulrika," Tech coach Joe Haggenmiller said. "It's so good for her to be gaining all this experience here in the US after joining our team in January."

Axelsson took a 4th place finish in the women's 5-kilometer classic. Earlier in the season, Axelsson took 10th in the NCAA Central Region Championships on Saturday, Feb. 15.
