The 2014 Michigan Cup season will begin this Saturday at the Lakes of the North Winterstart and Sunday at the Wintersonnewende. There is new scoring procedure for the Brumbaugh Cup. It is now a team competition. A team's top 5 Senior Men and top 3 Senior Women with count, with the top skier in each gender receiving 1 point and on down the line. The team with the lest amount of points wins the day.

In order to make sure this happen without undo confusion, Team Captions should appoint one person from each team to assist in the scoring (be familiar with their team roster) and to make things easiest insist that each team member be sure to include their team on the respective entry forms. Cris Jones will the spearhead contact person with each race director so be sure to let him know who the designated team leader of the day is. Cris has also donated a traveling Brumbaugh Cup trophy to be awarded to each winning team at each race. The winning team is responsible to make sure the cup shows up at the next designated Brumbaugh Cup race.

With this new scoring system the Brumbaugh Cup returns to a strictly based performance platform and ensures that all Michigan Cup teams have a better chance of competing. It should be an exciting season. Ernie
