Vasa Ski Club, Cross Country Ski Headquarters, and the Grand Rapids Nordic Ski Team lead the overall Michigan standings!
After a year of injury and reinjury, Milan Baic (Vasa Ski Club) returned in form to take the overall win in the 2018 North American Vasa 51k Freestyle.
A pair of Minnesota skiers, in a close finish, stole the show in the Men's 20k event, and the University of Michigan Nordic Ski Club showed up in force in the 20km classic.

Snow drought ends: White Pine to get slammed with snow! Plus the loop was remeasured - it's 5.4km. Only 4 laps instead of 5 for the 20km event. Of course, with this new snow....
Going into this 50K Freestyle at the Noquemanon, I had one main thread in mind: Prepare to reserve energy. The strategy I used in those days carried me well this weekend.

There have been many changes to the Brumbaugh Cup standings since the end of 2017, with the Vasa Ski Club sinking from first place to fourth, and Hanson Hills / Cross Country Ski Shop taking over first place.

Forbush Corner has volunteered to serve as temporary course host for this year’s race, since poor snow conditions at Hanson Hills preclude using the normal course.
