What:

he Maasto Hiihto/Churning Rapids trail system encompasses a lot of territory that seldom see ski tracks all winter. The Retro Ski is an opportunity each year to explore some of that country with like-minded friends and knowledgeable guides. There is no fee for this event but please purchase a trail pass; donations are always appreciated.

We’ll start blazing trail almost right away at 1:30 pm from the Tomasi Trailhead next to the Hancock Department of Public Works on Tomasi Drive. The exact route will be determined closer to the day of the Retro Ski subject to snow and ice conditions at the time. The goal is to leave from the Tomasi Trailhead and ski into the northern reaches of Churning Rapids to explore the off-track country. Depending on the final route a vehicle shuttle may be arranged to end at the Christensen Road Trailhead.
