The Vasa board president led a fired-up group of 250 VASA volunteers in the Heikki Lunta Snow Dance. It was truly a sight to see and the participants did a great job as it was snowing within minutes.
EARLY NEWS: Milan Biac outsprinted Dan Yankus to win the 2012 Michigan Cup Sprints. John Goble took third, followed by Cligg Onthank, John Gravlin, and Scott Howard.
The Sprints are still on for Sunday! The snow coverage at Timber Ridge is great, sprint course is fun and fast, custom medals are super cool and the food will be tasty and nutritious!

The record 52 degree temperatures and afternoon sun obliterated the trail as well as the snow around the trail.
As of 4:23pm today, we decided to postpone any decision for cancel the White Pine Stampede due to the new snow that was arriving. We received 2+ inches during the day.
Nearly 1,400 skier raced the 2012 Marquette General Health System Noquemanon Ski Marathon under great conditions. Although windy, the wind was mainly from the back, and the snow firm with an inch or two of fresh snow on top.

Finally! A race with decent snow with - GASP! -set tracks. Skiers who avoided last week's iffy snow at the Frosty Freestyle and Krazy Klassic came out in droves for the 2012 Cote Dame Marie at Hanson Hills in Grayling, MI.

Forty-five kids arrived at Huron Meadows at 8:00am, got their skis, and headed out to the start line to race in the first ever Frosty Freestyle Kids Race. Frosty the Snowman was their to cheer them on!
