Hi, I’m Mike Muha! I’ve been a Nordic ski racer since 1981, and I’ve been lucky enough to be part of the Michigan Cup skiing community since day one.
The idea for this site actually came out of my own frustration. As a master skier constantly trying to get faster, I realized how incredibly hard it was to find basic information. If you wanted race schedules or results, you had to hunt them down across a dozen different places. If you wanted to improve your technique, your best bet was finding. There were no trail lists, and definitely no live trail reports.
So, on June 16, 2001, I launched NordicSkiRacer.com to change that. I wanted to give back to the community that gave me so much. It started simple: I put my own training logs online and spent hours digging through the internet to piece together one master race calendar. Soon, it grew into a place where skiers could share trail reports, check race results, and read up on training tips.
Fast forward to today, and the site has evolved quite a bit. This latest version—which launched in the fall of 2026—is a complete, top-to-bottom rewrite. I built it from scratch using modern technology to make it faster, smoother, and packed with new features to keep us all connected.
Thanks for dropping by, and I'll see you out on the snow!
Mike Muha
