Norway wins Cross-Country medals ranking

Norwegian cross-country team won the Olympic medal ranking. Five Gold medals, two silver and two bronze. Swedish team collected seven with 3-2-2. Third best cross-country nation became Germany with five (1-4-0). In total eleven nations were on the podium.

Michigan Cup Sprint donates $270 to LiveStrong

Even though it there was a small turnout, the 2010 Michigan Cup Sprints generated $270 in proceeds that were donated to the Lance Armstrong Foundation.

Northug Wraps Up With 50K Gold

Norway's Petter Northug won his second gold medal in Sunday's men's 50K mass start classic. James Southam finished 28th to lead the U.S. in the final ski event at the 2010 Winter Olympic Games.

Petra Majdic receives Terry Fox award

Terry Fox award recipients "have shown incredible courage and determination, while also overcoming adversity." Majdic broke several ribs when she fell into a gully during training before the Individual Sprint CL competition, but went on to take Bronze.

Northug Jr. wins Gold in 50 km

Competition was very tactical from first kilometers. Big group of skiers was formed. for the first time in the Olympic Games changing of skis was allowed. In total three pit stops were possible.

Italian takes Birkie title

Leading the European invasion was Italian Fabio Santus, who renewed his country's dominance of the event by covering the 50 kilometers from Cable to Hayward in a record 1:56:58.6, just 8 seconds ahead of runner-up Tad Elliot of Durango, Colo.

Honorary Starter, Wisconsin Governor James Doyle, welcomed the largest field of skiers ever in the American Birkebeiner’s 37-year history. He sent over 8,055 skiers on their way beginning at 8:00 a.m. FULL RESULTS.

Justyna Kowalczyk of Poland won the last ladies' competition in Whistler. In the finish she edged out Marit Bjoergen by a few centimeters. Aino Kaisa Saarinen of Finland claimed Bronze medal.
