Third shock's the charm
I sort of left it as a cliff hanger last week: Did the electrical shock to my heart get me out of atrial fibrillation (AF)? It did, but not quite the way anyone, including my doctors, expected it to.

UPDATED: Team sprint podium for Randall, Bjornsen
The U.S. Ski Team's Kikkan Randall (Anchorage) and Sadie Bjornsen (Winthrop, WA) combined for an historic FIS World Cup podium Sunday in a sprint relay in Duesseldorf. The U.S. team turned in a strong performance, finishing just 1.6 seconds behind Norway.

Yep, my heart is in A-fib and making shambles of my training. So this morning the doctor is putting me to sleep, then sending low-energy shocks to my heart to trigger a normal rhythm.

The next sweet water bottle belt to ingratiate itself was a Solda belt. It looked like a nice holster for the water bottle, and duo pockets on either side. Maybe this will be the one.

This year in Yellowstone, we brought a relatively small group (seven) of skiers and only one coach, so waxing had the potential to get hairy if conditions got completely sketchy.

The first pretty water bottle holder I tried was another Ultimate Directions, the "Access Gel". It seemed to have everything - a water bottle, gel flask and holder, wax pouch, and a nifty way to manage excess belt length.
