Seventy-Two racers on 24 teams participated in the Michigan Cup Relays at the Cross Country Ski Headquarters on Saturday, March 20th. The snow was slow, but thanks to Bob Frye & his crew, the course was in great shape despite start time temps in the 40's.
The 'Speedsters' of Traverse Nordic Ski Club (B. Brundage, M.Baic, C.Onthank) were the overall winners in 1:13:17, an XCHQ team (K. Brady, J.Samuels, R.Mitchell) was 2nd in 1:17:44, and '2 Bucks & a Dolt' of Grand Rapids Nordic Ski Club + the Straits Striders (D. Camp, C. Weingartz, S. Smigiel) took third in 1:19:14. Winners and rankings by age categories are listed in this PDF file. Saturday's race was for TEAM points only.
