Copper Country Ski Tigers win overall 2017 High School Championships!

The Copper Country Ski Tigers are the Team Champions of the 2017 Michigan High School Cross Country Ski Championships. Led by Mitchell Delong's win in the Classic, Pursuit and Sprint, with strong supporting finishes by Anabel Needham, Kora Johnson, Matthew Chard,  Nikolai Huotari, Joseph Wood and others, the Ski Tigers racked up 566.5 points for the victory.

Copper Country Ski Tigers celebrate success!

Second place was a tie between Marquette and Traverse City Central / West, each finishing the Championship with 497 points. Fourth was Traverse City St. Francis: 

  1. Copper Country - 566.5
  2.  Marquette - 497
  3. Traverse City Central / West - 497
  4. Traverse City St. Francis - 223.5
  5. Petoskey - 201
  6. Ishpeming Ski Club - 198.5
  7. Vasa Ski Club - 57
  8.  Home School - 46.5

Points are awarded based on the finish in each race, with more points for higher finishes.
