SCHEDULE (Natural Snow)

8:00 AM — Packet Pick-Up and Race-Day Registration begin
9:30 AM — Kids' Race begins
10:00 AM — Packet Pick-Up and Race-Day Registration end
10:15 AM — Post-race pancake breakfast begins
10:15 AM — 15K participants begin lining up at the starting line
10:25 AM — 5K participants begin lining up behind the 15K participants at the starting line
10:30 AM — 15K starts, first wave: all men
10:33 AM — 15K starts, second wave: all women

10:36 AM — 5K starts (all competitors)
1:00 PM — Awards ceremony (approximate time)
1:15 PM — Post-race pancake breakfast ends

Frosty Kids cross country ski race

Kids Race

A race for kids 5 through 11 years old. Every kid gets a nifty custom designed medal as they cross the finish line. All kids who signed up for the Learn to Ski program are automatically entered into the race. Other kids may race for $10.

Parents are encourged to be out on the course taking pictures, movies and generally cheering the kids on!

Sign-up day of the race: Registration starts at 8:00am. Note: Huron Meadows Metropark requires $10 day pass in addition to the Ski Tour registration. Annual passes are $35 ($21 for seniors) and provide access to all 13 Huron-Clinton Metroparks. A bargain!

The REI 15K Frosty

The marque race! The REI 15K race starts out easy for the first 5K, adds some big hills (up AND down) during the second 5K, then gets more technical for the final 5K, before ascending a long gentle hill to the finish.

You may either skate or classic ski the race - there are awards for both categories.

The race is mass start: all men will start at 10:30; all women will start at 10:33. Registration begins at 8:00am.

Michigan Cup

This race is part of the Michigan Cup Series and is designated as a Senior Freestyle race: senior racers age 20 and older will get Michigan Cup freestyle points.

Frosty Freestyle 5K cross country ski, great for new racers

The REI 5K Frosty

The REI 5K Frosty cross country ski race is great for first-time racers or skiers who want a shorter race distance. The course has just enough hills to make it interesting but not difficult.

You may either skate or classic ski the race - there are awards for both categories.

The race is mass start: all 5K racers start at 10:36, 6 minutes after the 15K skiers start. Men and women will start together, along with Frosty (can you beat Frosty?). Registration begins at 8:00am.

Michigan Cup

The 5K is a Michigan Cup Series junior points race. Junior racers 19 and under will receive Michigan Cup freestyle points.

The 5K is also a Michigan Cup Series "Fun Race": All senior racers 20 and older will get 10 points for participating in this race.
