Kids classes:

44 photos. It's Wednesday night January 4, 2012 at Huron Meadows Metropark, there's barely enough snow on the ground to ski, but it's been augmented with some man-made snow from the parks brand new snow making gun. Forty-three kids are raring to go (along with 8 parents who wanted to learn to ski, too). Turned out to be a great night to ski! Photos by Ken Grybel II.

Frosty Freestyle Race:

381 photos. Forty-five kids arrived at Huron Meadows at 8:00am, got their skis, and headed out to the start line to race in the first ever Frosty Freestyle Kids Race. Frosty the Snowman was their to cheer them on! Photos by Ken Grybel II.

41 photos. Photos of the 2012 Frosty Freestyle by Denise Semion of the Huron-Clinton Metroparks.

Krazy Klassic 10K:

70 photos. It WAS Krazy! Who holds a classic cross country ski race without set tracks? We do! Photos by Mike Muha.

Men's 10K

Dan Yankus (Team NordicSkiRacer/Priority Health) slowly pulled away from the field to win the 2012 REI Frosty Freestyle Men's 10K. VASA Ski Club's Cliff Onthank took second, followed by Alex Vanias (Cross Country Ski Headquarters), who worked his way from behind to get on the podium.

Women's 10K

Cheryl Darnton gets out of the start like a rocket and never looks back to take victory at the 2012 Frosty Freestyle 10K cross country ski race - for the third year in a row.

Women's 5K video

Team NordicSkiRacer's Lindsey MacDonald wins the 5k Frosty Freestyle cross country ski race, leading the entire race. The race was saved by new snow making equipment procured by Huron Meadows Metropark - Mother Nature was not behaving.

Men's 5K Video

Brothers Nikolaas Vermeulen and Vincent Vermeulen finish 1-2 in the men's 5k cross country ski race at the Frosty Freestyle on January 14, 2012.

Krazy Klassic 10K (Huron Meadows Invitational)

It WAS Krazy! Who holds a classic cross country ski race without set tracks? We do! Dan Yankus (Team NordicSkiRacer) added a second victory this weekend, and Tracy Hardin (Straits Striders) was the women's champion.

This is a pretty long video because I wanted to give racers the opportunity to see how they skied rather than making a slick video.
