Kick off your New Year with the Frosty Ski Fest! Brought to you by Epic Races in partnership with Huron Meadows Metropark and Team Nordic Ski Racer, this weekend of cross-country races allows you enjoy the natural beauty of Huron Meadows while skiing through the scenic parklands towards the finish line. With guaranteed snow — Huron Meadows makes snow for cross-country enthusiasts — and distances ideal for both first-time ski racers and experienced Nordic ski competitors, is a fabulous way to bring wonder to your winter!
Saturday, January 13:
The REI Frosty Freestyle 15K — an exciting mixture of rolling hills, climbs, descents, and technical challenges. (The 15k is a Michigan Cup points race).
The REI Frosty Freestyle 5K — a cool combination of curves, straightaways, and just enough of an uphill to make it interesting.
Sunday, January 14:
Krazy Klassic 12K — three laps around a 4K double-track loop that traverses the south side of the park and travels almost entirely through woodlands. (The 12k is a Michigan Cup points race).
Krazy Klassic 8K — two laps around the wooded, double-track 4K loop.
Register for a Frosty Ski Fest Combo (race both Saturday and Sunday) and save $10 on the combined registration fee!
Michigan Senior Olympics
The Krazy Klassic ski races on Sunday, January 15 are now part of the Michigan Senior Olympics! Participants ages 50 and up will be given the option to participate — at no additional cost — in the Michigan Senior Olympics and will receive a special medal upon crossing the finish line!
In low snow conditions, both races will be held on the man-made snow on Bucks Run, a 2.5 km loop.
Technique clinics both days, after the race!
