What:

Illinois Roller Ski Race Series consists of four 10k race held in the fall at Moraine Hills State Park in McHenry, IL.

Race Trail Description
All four races will be held at Moraine Hills State Park in McHenry, IL. The first race on 8/2nd and the second race on 9/7th will consist of 2 laps on the 3.2 miles Leatherleaf Bog Trail for a total of 6.4 miles. The Leather Bog trail is one-directional and surfaced with crushed limestone and paved on the hills. The trail will swerve in and out of marshland and up and down kettle moraines, near natural lakes, prairies, bogs and over wooded hills, which will provide a challenging and interesting test for the skiers for the upcoming winter. Pneumatic tires are strongly recommended in these races. The third race on 10/5th and the forth race on 11/2nd will be 2 laps on the 1.70 mile paved River Road Trail, which is a point-to-point trail for a total of 6.8 miles. The River Road Trail will also be used if needed due to bad weather and the Leatherleaf is unusable.
