What started out as a potential disaster has become an opportunity for growth for the Boyne Nordic Center, located in the Boyne Mountain Resort Complex, Boyne Falls, Michigan. Initially, the cross country staff was concerned that the path of the new road running from the Nordic Center to M75 would severely limit access to existing cross country ski trails. Instead, a newly routed beginner trail, a revamped instructional area complete with a new hill, "Lou's Leap," expanded nordic parking facilities, and a few new twists to the Grinder trail system has the Nordic staff excitedly looking forward to the upcoming ski season. Nordic Ski Director, Lou Awodey, thinks the new hill will be a real interesting option for kids checking out the cross country scene. PSI Nordic Instructor Terry Kureth and Larry Pratt have been reworking the trails for a good part of the fall. Says Terry Kureth, “Work is underway right now ensuring that we will have a successful cross country season.” “Look for our shop to open sooner than later, " says Nordic Instructor Hap Wright. “Judy and Kirk will be back, and we will be featuring some inside changes too. We’re looking forward to seeing you just as soon as the snow starts to fly!” Hap Wright The Northern View
