BREAKING NEWS FROM NICK BAIC!
January 1, 2003:
The races for this weekend at Chestnut Valley and Boyne Highlands are on. The snow survived the rain on Monday. They will both be run on modified courses. The race at Chestnut will be a rolling 3-3.5 K course.

There is 4 to 6 inch base. The skiing should be fast with no major ups or downs. Jr.s and Women will go twice and Sr / OJ/J1 men will go 3 times.

The hills on the Nub's trails are washed out and would be unsafe without additional snowfall. Course will be groomed late Thursday (3:00 pm) and as needed.

The race at Boyne Highlands also look good. The race may start at the Nordic Center or the Ross Golf center. It depends on which course is used. We should know by Thursday night and will keep you updated.  -Nick Baic
