The Junior Birkie was the site of the Central Cross Country J4 and J3 Championships on Friday, February 21, 2003. One hundred and sixty seven kids, ages 10-15, participated. It was exciting to see so many kids skiing. 

The 3.8 km freestyle race was held at the Telemark Resort on the mixture of man made snow and ice (due to the 50 degree temperatures the day before.) The conditions were mediocre at best and the course was very icy in some spots. 

The young Ski Tigers accepted the challenge and took most of the top spots in the competition. Results for the Ski Tigers that participated are below.

Please congratulate this Ski Tigers when you see them on the trail. They work very hard during the ski season and they are getting faster everyday. The Ski Tiger coaches are finding that they need work hard also to make sure they can keep up.
