Seniors Andy Triebold and Tracy Hardin take top honors as the overall Michigan Cup Individual Champions for 2005. Kyle Endicott and Cassidy Edwards are the Junior Individual Champions.

In the end, it was only 561 points that separated Team NordicSkiRacer.com (23,678) from the Strait Striders. Third place Cross Country Ski Headquarters missed out of second place by only 114 points. The Headquarters were last year's winner of the Michigan Cup.

The idea to expand the Black Mountain Nordic Classic into a two day combined classic/skate event has recently been contemplated. The race organizers are seeking input from the skiing community regarding format.

An excellent showing at the Michigan Cup Relays gave Team NordicSkiRacer.com enough points to overtake the Strait Striders and the Cross Country Ski Headquarters for the Michigan Cup Team Trophy. Results are still unofficial at this time.

It was a second day of great racing conditions at Boyne Highlands, this time for the 15KM Freestyle event. Racers took the Heather Chair Lift to the top of the mountain for the start, then raced down, back up, down (with some VERY tight and twisty corners), partway back up, and down again toward the finish line.

As of the end of the Black Mountain 30Km Classic, Grand Rapids Nordic has slightly increased its lead in the overall team standings, but it could still be anyone's championship: the first four teams are separated by only 1,115 points.
